"In 1970, research by a doctor named Vitek revealed that
headaches were liked to the upper cerviceal spine (upper
bones of the neck) and not vascular disease. Spinal
adjustments proved successful in 77% of the cases.
Here is another, More Recent Medical Study.
"It appears that chiropractors have been right all
along. A team of doctors at Syracuse University have
established with scientific, anatomical proof, that
damaged structures in the neck (subluxations) are the
cause of many chronic headaches."

How could chiropractic care help headaches?
There are a group of bones or vertebrae in the upper
neck (specifically at the C1-C2 area) that are
significantly related to structures of the head. If
these bones get out of alignment (a subluxation), they
can put pressure on the nerves going directly to the
blood vessels and muscles of the head. This interference
to the nerves leading to these tissues can cause
symptoms of headache, tension headache, migraine
headache, cluster headache, and sinus headache.
Finding the subluxations and restoring the nerve supply
can have a significant effect on correcting the cause of
some headaches.
How can we know for sure if chiropractic can help?
We
perform a state-of-the-art scan of the spine, which
shows up on a computer screen like the picture to the
right. If
the spine has subluxation and nerve interference, it
will show up as red, blue or green lines. If there is no
subluxation or interference, it will show up as white
lines. If interference is present, it is negatively
affecting the joints, muscles and nerves of your spine.
If you know someone who is suffering from headaches,
please share this with them. |
